Finally got to drive a Juke. It was obscenely fun for being a little 4-cyl turbo lifted hatchback thing (too small for me to call it a crossover) with a CVT. Mash the go pedal and the tach slowly rises until 3.5k RPM then it rises much faster as the steering wheel tries to break free of your hands. And it’s smooth. Very smooth engine, smooth ride, responsive handling. Quirky-as-hell styling and fun to drive? Sign me right the fuck up.

I drove a 6-speed NISMO Juke for work once - we were putting leather in it - and the ride was anything but smooth. It was fun. Turbo was a bit laggy but not any worse than my Jeep. But when it got into boost... WHEEE!
I definitely agree though. If they made a 6-speed awd version it’d be nice to have as a toy.

One man's “Quirky styling" is another man's "Eric Stoltz in Mask." I say for all the trouble they go to for the Juke, all of it should be done to the Versa hatchback instead. That would be 10x more Jalop and 90% less trendy.

My wife loves hers. I think it’s funky in all the right places.

I think they make great rally cars.

I don’t think the Juke is weird enough. Sure it looks weird enough to make it "quirky" but it really feels like a normal car inside. They need something equivalent to the Nissan Cube Pubes or the Pontiac Aztek tent-mode to make it truly unique. Maybe a disco ball coming from the roof or something functional like a stovetop range in the trunk!

It is so weird, but I think (somehow) they captured the female (semi) enthusiast croud with it, my mother has one, and by God whe loves the fuck out of it, she announced to me recently that she wants a new one in a different color.
I have driven it and it is a lot quicker than the numbers will tell you, it doesn’t drive as well as a Mini, but it rides soooo much better in exchange.

Yeah, it’s a really good compromise between handling and ride quality. I really want to drive a stick one, might make a trip down to my local nissan dealer and see if I could have a go.

Totally, Ive been thinking about a manual one for three years, I should probably give it a go too, it’s really the only thing about it that I can tell you is shit, the CVT...
That and the AC/DriveSelect/Whatever knobs. *shudders
